Binions

Listed in Poker Rooms

(702) 366-7361

128 Fremont Street,Las Vegas,NV 89101

Description: Binions (formerly Binions Horseshoe)is the original home of the World Series of Poker. The 2 poker areas in Binions these days have very little in common with what we now associate the WSOP with. However, the main poker room today has walls adorned with past champions from that most prestigious event, which is now held at the Rio in Las Vegsas. The other poker room is in the back with lots of tables for when they need them for a big tourney, such as the one they have every Saturday at 2pm for $125 buyin. Below you can see information about the daily 2pm tourney (except for Saturday) Read more...

Caesars Palace

Listed in Poker Rooms

(702) 785-6566

3570 Las Vegas Boulevard,Las Vegas,NV 89109

Description: Caesar’s Palace opened a very fine poker room in the back, by the sports book years ago (around 2006), but in about 2014 they closed that room to expand the adjacent nightclub. They opened a new smaller room in the middle of the casino. The information sheet and structure sheet for all their tournaments (at 10am, 2pm, 5pm, and 9pm) are here…. Golden Nugget

Listed in Poker Rooms

(702) 386-8383

129 E. Fremont Street, Las Vegas, NV 89101

Description: The Golden Nugget Poker room has 13 rather cramped tables, but they offer good action most of the time, both cash game and tournament. Recently (Dec ’14), the tournament schedule and structures changed, dropping from 4 a day to 2 a day at 11am and 7pm. The structures (see below) have changed in that you get more starting chips (14,000) and also something rather unique happened with the blind levels. The first 8 levels are 15 minutes in length while after that they go to 25 minutes. Should the tourney reach beyond 17 levels, the remainder goes to 35 minute levels. Read more...

Harrahs

Listed in Poker Rooms

(702) 369-5040

3475 Las Vegas Blvd South,Las Vegas,NV 89109

Description: The Harrahs glassed in poker room is no more. After many years at the same location next to the sports book on the south side of the casino, the poker room at Harrahs, like many of the others in Las Vegas, moved to a more visible location with more foot traffic, at the extreme north end of the casino. With 12 tables and 4 daily tournaments, the Harrahs Poker Room still offers plenty of action, just without the enclosure they were so famous for before. Read more...

MGM

(877) 757-0007

3799 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109

Description: The MGM poker room has moved a few times recently. When they first opened around 2006, they were in a great location, near the front (strip) entrance. The lion’s den was nearby and later the sportsbook expanded next door, and a noisy circular bar was built there. The walk-by traffic drew in a lot of cash game players and therefore, the MGM was known as one of the best places to play if you were a good player who wanted to take advantage of the fish swimming in the poker sea. $1-$2 no-limit and $2-$5 no-limit holdem were very popular there during those years. Somewhere along the line, management decided… Read more...

Orleans

Listed in Poker Rooms

(702) 365-7150

4500 W. Tropicana Ave.,Las Vegas,NV 89103

Description: The Orleans poker room has 35 tables and is the most well-establishe “locals” poker room. However, this card room caters to tourists as well because their room rates are often discounted by a huge amount because the hotel is so large that they want to fill them up during slower times. Because of the fact the room is so large (and well run), and because it seems to have the perfect mix of tourists and locals, the Orleans poker room is doing extremely well these days (Mar, 2015). The tourney structures have improved (click on the flyers below) and the Friday night 7pm tourney is just ridiculous in that they… Read more...

Planet Hollywood

(702) 785-9150

3667 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109

Description: The Planet Hollywood regular poker room has only 14 tables and sits on the main floor of the casino, but the notable thing about Planet Hollywood and poker is that they have many special series tourneys throughout the year, at least 6 of them, some just for 4 days or so, and others, like during WSOP time, much longer. The buyins at these series called the Phamous Poker Series are mostly in the $200-$300 range and offer great structures, but not so great in paying off the winners, as the house takes a healthy cut from each buyin. Their regular daily tourneys are interesting in that they always guarantee a… Read more...

Treasure Island

Listed in Poker Rooms

(702) 894-7291

3300 S. Las Vegas Blvd.,Las Vegas,NV 89109

Description: The Treasure Island poker room has been moved within the last 2 years (maybe some time in 2013) from the walkway of shops (and the entrance to Mystere) after getting off the escalator from the self-parking, to an area off the casino floor and much closer to the strip entrance. With 7 tables, this card room offers a steady diet of $1/$2 no-limit holdem as well as a tournament schedule as follows…. Read more...

Venetian

Listed in Poker Rooms

702-414-1000

3355 Las Vegas Blvd. South Las Vegas, NV 89109

Description: The Venetian poker room is the largest one in Las Vegas, both in number of tables (59) and in square footage (about 13,000 sf).  Not only that, but it also gets even bigger during special events, of which they have 5 per year called the Deep Stack Extravaganza series.  4 out of 5 of those DSE series last almost a month or a little more than a month, while the 5th one (in September) is about two weeks long.  Buy-ins range from $300 to $5,000 for the noon events, but you can play for as little as $200 if you play in one of the side events (those that start… Read more...
